Program Description

The Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Professional Certification (ECPC) is recognized by DCF, FLDOE, and PHELC as a high-quality training program for those interested in working with young children.
During program, students learn the 6 CDA Competencies and 13 functional areas of: Health, Safety, Learning Environment, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management and Professionalism.

Curriculum meets and exceeds the National CDA and upon completion of the 120 Classroom Instruction Hours; 480 On-The- Job Training Hours; Professional Portfolio; and coursework; students will be awarded the ECPC Staff Credential showing their proficiency to work as a lead teacher in a childcare setting. We pride ourselves on offering a program that allows adults the chance to attend class during the day, while simultaneously applying the skills learned in class to a real world, classroom experience.  Students learn through the methods of guided individual and group work, creative activities and a supportive, nurturing environment. This model helps to keep the program interesting and focused on student success, while allowing students to bring newly acquired knowledge and skills back to the children in their care each week.
