ESOL

 

This open entry program is designed for non-native speakers improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English.   The classes offer a variety of opportunities for you to learn and practice English, including in-class and online activities. We also offer GED-preparatory classes, health literacy classes, and an online pronunciation program.

Admissions Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Formally withdrawn from regular high school program
  • Evaluation of basic skills of the English language

 

Fees

$30.00 per semester.

To Begin Studying, you need to follow a few easy steps:

  • Schedule an appointment in Building A 14-017 to take the CASAS placement test, or call (727)774-1855. The CASAS has two sections:  reading and listening. 
  • Pay non-refundable tuition of $30 (Florida in-state residents) or $120 (out-of-state residents) in the Student Services office located in Building E, Room 04-001.  You may pay by personal check (with printed address and phone number), money order or credit card.  Please note there is a $5 convenience fee to pay by credit card. You will need to sign a residency affidavit and provide at least two documents to verify residency from the state-approved list. Status as a dependent or independent student.
  • Bring your tuition receipt to the CASAS exam.
  • Start  ESOL classes!
