About MTEC

MTEC was established as a vocational school in 1984 to serve high school students in west Pasco. The adult education classes were added several years later.

MTEC has 16 technical programs, many of which lead directly to an industry certification. We provide training in the following areas:

  • service industry

  • arts, communication, and technology

  • construction

  • industry

The training which students receive includes traditional classes, hands-on activities, computer-based instruction, and work-based activities.

MTEC provides other adult programs that are offered throughout the day and four nights a week such as General Education Diploma program (GED), Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI), TABE testing, English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Adult Literacy.

MTEC is moving towards increasing our adult enrollment by expanding our course offerings and schedules to meet the needs of the adult population in the Pasco community. We are currently in the process of broadening our offerings to include community and personal enrichment classes as well as online courses.

MTEC obtained an accreditation from the commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE) in November of 2008. Additionally, we are currently finalizing our NATEF certification allowing automotive service students the opportunity to become ASE certified.
